Busy Life

So yes it has been awhile since I have posted but I have good reasons! I've been studying for finals and many other tests and applying for jobs and taking in the spring sunshine. Breathe... Okay, now that that is out there I'd like to say today was boring. YES, finally an uneventful day. Wrong, I hate sitting down and doing nothing for long periods of time, I can barely type this without getting up and leaving my blog to collect dust.

Let's begin with last night.. I drove with a friend, after school, to Sport's Authority to get a light up frisbee.. Yes, we did drive 30 minutes and 20 dollars later to get one.. Got home and at her house we threw a bonfire slash frisbee throwing party. So fun! I loved that thing. It was well worth the $20. After I was invited to another friend's house (I'm by no means popular, this was a weird thing for me) and we watched Anchorman. Can Will Ferrell be any funnier? Maybe, we'll debate that some other time. Around 1 I got home and crashed.. Woke up to bonfire hair. I have a love hate relationship with that scent. it just really sucks when you can't get it out after multiple washing's.
OK, the only thing I did today was make a cake for my Mother, for mother's day tomorrow. It's strawberry with straberry whipped cream frosting. It looks good but the cake more or less reminded me of Sleeping Beauty's fairy godmother's cake for her 16th birthday, falling over and frosting dripping off. Hey, at least it will taste good and Mom will love it! (I hope)

Now I sit here and type while watching 101 Dalmatians the Disney Classic. One of my favorites!

Say good things to your mama everyone tomorrow! Even if, like I, you don't get along perfectly.

With Love, Emily.

This is the blog I found the recipe on, Enjoy!

Cinco De Mayo!

Well I hope your day was filled with Mexican affairs, mine had a few things. And, I'm not even Hispanic! I began my day with of course, church. It was the last QFM Live, for the little ones. Today's message was a virtue we all know, Patience. It was very funny and had a lot of dancing and glow sticks (you had to be there). After popcorn and chips with salsa (Cinco De Mayo) And I met up with some friends and chatted till the actual service, dun dun dun! Today was the last day message of our 2 week series on Hydrate. Michael talked about Jacob's well and the Samarian woman who gave Jesus water, even though she was not suppose to and committed adultery, many a times. It was good. I can't wait till our building is started and eventually complete! After I went home, ate an apple, and did Chemistry and Spanish. So fun, although I do enjoy Chemistry. Finally my day brought me to bike up to the store and buy 3 drinks and rollos for my sister. I hate a Fuze, tropical punch, and it was so good! While drinking that wonderful liquid, I surfed the internet and listened to some music. For dinner my family and I had quesadillas with salsa and chips, I stuck to mostly the quesadilla and my Fuze. (it's gone now..) The kitchen cleaned and I bored again, I went for yet another bike ride and surprisingly saw a few friends down at the park and we talked for awhile then they longboarded while I biked and climbed trees over the river! GAH. Scary. Boys are silly sometimes (most times..) I came home reluctantly an hour and a half later. I made banana ice cream and had some of that. It's very good! You need to try it here is what I did..

5 bananas
Cinnamon to taste
2 tsp vanilla
Peanut butter (if wanted, it's good too!)

That was my night, I'm not happy to go back to school tomorrow but only 25 days left till Summer Break!

May the Fourth be with you.

May the Fourth be with you. Yes Stars Wars fans, here is your day to be geeky and run around saying this silly line. Don't worry, I have been too!
So I woke up today feeling pretty good, I had a good night's sleep and even woke up on my own at 8 (as per usual) but I felt refreshed! Then I proceeded to read about 10 more chapters of the Percy Jackson book, The Mark of Athena. It's amazing! Rick Riordan knows his stuff. Then Lucky Charms for breakfast. I have been looking forward to all week. A shower, get dressed, all dolled up to do... Homework. Yep, I did some homework! I have a little bit more than usual this weekend.. Sigh. After, because I'm crazy, I made banana bread! NOW, this stuff is so good! I got the recipe for anyone who wants to try it! Here's the catch: Vanilla Pudding! It made it super moist and fluffy at the same time. I can't tell how good my kitchen smells now. I followed exact directions and ate a spoonful of batter (very good!) then popped her in the oven for only 30 minutes, not 50. It was perfectly golden and cooked still, which I found odd. I'm not questioning it just changing the rules around. I then after proceeded to share it with my family, who didn't complain. It's almost gone!!

an hour after that, I went to play Skyrim. BEST. GAME. EVER. I'm a huge fan of medieval combat games involving dragons and mythical creatures, so Skyrim. I just love exploring mostly, and using the special abilities given to me for being the Dragon Born.

Anyways, now I sit here blogging, debating on what to do next.
I hope your Saturday has gone well and it was as relaxing as mine!

Below is the recipe I used.
Sweet Banana Bread --

INGREDIENTS
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 (3 ounce) package non-instant vanilla pudding mix
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
1 1/3 cups mashed ripe banana
1/3 cup chopped walnuts

DIRECTIONS
In a small bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and vanilla pudding mix. In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar and shortening until light, scraping sides of the bowl often. Add the eggs one at a time, beating smooth after each addition. Mix in the milk.
Add flour mixture and mashed bananas alternately to creamed mixture, beating until smooth after each addition. Fold in nuts if desired. Pour batter into a lightly greased 8x4 inch loaf pan.
Bake in a cold, (non-preheated) oven set to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bake for 50 minutes (I only did 30, and didn't do that last part), then cover with foil to prevent burning and bake for additional 10 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the crown comes out clean. Leave in pan for 10 minutes, then remove from pan and cool.

Going Through the Motions

Good Evening everyone! Although my past 2 days have been emotionally draining. To begin and end yesterday, A family therapist came out and practically gave permission for my mother and sister to rip out on me like a pack of hyenas. "I'm selfish, I have an attitude, I hold my father on a pedestal (family divorce since I was 8)" and much more. Let's say I went to my room a bawled for about an hour until I had to be decent again and go to church. AH! My church, Quarry, God is the thing I need to live, and I'm not joking either. Without my weekly QSM, I'm toast. Of course Sunday's and random events help too but I need a group of people just praising God and nothing else matters. I find I feel like I belong there. I do. I wont go in to too much details but the topic of the night was "What is church? And why do we need it?" It was very good (as per usual) and I learned a few new things. The worst news of all was the fact the boy I have been secretly liking from afar, asked a girl to prom. The worst part is, I wasn't even upset. I smiled and I really was happy for him. I was oddly calm over the whole debacle. I don't know what this means but I'm really shocked, that's all.

Today, now today was great. NOT. I seriously felt so emotionally drained I wanted to curl up and die on the spot (okay, dramatization, but still). Things felt off, I just went through the motions and that was that. Along with I drove on the free-way for my second time driving ever, very well. Then I had therapy, my own, from my eating disorder, of which appointments are coming to a close here soon (yay!) I just felt like today I took a step back, not forward.

Later my mother and I went to Panera bread, so good! I had chicken noodle soup and half of a sandwich! Of which after we went to an amazing cupcake place and I had a lemon butter cream, also very good.

So well I have a ton of homework yet to accomplish (I'll more than likely not do it till tomorrow night)

I hope you're days went will, if not, the sun shines yet again tomorrow and a new day dawns.

Oh, What a Wonderful Day!

Oh what a day! It was truly a gift!
My Human Biology class went on a field trip to see Body Worlds at the Science Museum. Although it was my second time seeing it (I went 6 years ago!) I was still amazed at how cool our bodies can really be, ya know? At times it was gross to look at parts but once you get past it you realize God made a miracle and does every time a new human is born. My favorite part, now and then, is the arteries, veins, and capillaries outlines. How do they strip the body down to microscopic tubes that are extremely fragile and still manage to keep their shape?! Freaking amazing.
Not to mention my Father was on the trip with me and 6 years ago being the science-y, nerdy kid I am he took me for fun. So it was like a reunion.
OH! And, there was this handsome young lad of whom I don't know that kept looking over at me and smiling, I was twitterpated, immediately and dedicated the rest of my day to smiling whenever he came across me (or I to him) probably the latter of the two.. Sadly though, it could have been my imagination that he was smiling at me, for I am just a lowly blonde haired, blue eyed girl. I never got the nerve to get his number... (fun fact: he was from Delano) I will be searching handsome boy, (;

After that trip was over and I said goodbye to my prince (extreme exaggeration) my father finally took me to take my permit test.. And the verdict is....

I PASSED! With 2 wrong out of 40, yay me! (London Tipton, anybody? No? okay.)
To celebrate he took me to Cherry Berry for the first time. Encase you don't know, it's a self serve, frozen yogurt place with so many kinds of yogurt and toppings to choose from it's almost overwhelming. Silly, boring old me decided just to get non-fat birthday cake with a few bobas, (yet to figure out what they are) The total ounce count was 10, coming to $5.33. EXPENSIVE, honestly 10 oz's is nothing in terms of frozen yogurt.

It was delicious and clean, for the most part! The downside is, I am now having major stomach problems and I feel sick.. ICK. For the cost of this stuff, I better hold it down.
The rest of my night's timeline is;  homework, read, bike ride?, and Awkward. at 9 o'clock. If you haven't watched it and you're a teen girl (or boy) I totally suggest it for a try. It's pretty funny, here's the link to their page on MTV.com

http://www.mtv.com/shows/awkward/series.jhtml

And to close today's blog I have this little quote:

Wonderful little thing isn't it? I thought the Lord was showing His love for me today, and it didn't go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Update:

Okay, you know how I said I was going to be blogging about eating "clean"? Well I'll sprinkle those thoughts in. I have found I just want to blog about me, no limits to a single subject.

My main focus: GOD

That is all.

Day of Rest(?)

Good Afternoon to anyone who has decided to read my silly and boring blog but hey, I've always wanted one so here I stay. (I did not mean to rhyme, it just happened!)
Today began with my Sunday ritual of waking up to go and praise my Lord, Jesus Christ. Our pastor began a new series called Project Rescue: Hydrate. It was wonderful! The Hydrate part came in to play when 9 people (as far as I know) were baptized  A few did not plan it but God put it in their heart to do it! Tears were shed to say the least! God is good isn't He? Anyways, the point of this week was:

The Parable of the Good Samaritan

25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[c]; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d]
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii[e]and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

And Michael's messages from this was:
Life Happens
Get off your donkey! (modern translation: Get off your high horse)
Everyone Matters
Go and do likewise

Onward with my day...

My father and I went to a little cafe in town and I had a Egg White Garden Vegetable Omelet. (CLEAN) It was decent and he ordered what they called The Kitchen Sink, so like everything on the menu (hehe). The grand total was not worth the wait or the quality to say the least but it got the job done

Fast forward some more..I finished my application to Caribou Coffee, cross my fingers I get the job! And now, I'm baking cookies as pay to my neighbor who put in a furnace for us in the Winter. It's the least I could do.

I didn't get to the things I needed to do but I feel like I have accomplished a lot for what God says is our day of rest.

I hope your day went just as well if even better than mine :)
